about

Once upon a time in March MMXIV, the band Dubb Nubb and I released a mini-CD split EP called MISSOURI'S HAT where we each performed two songs: one by our own selves, and one by the other, for a total of four songs; two original and two covers. Later that same year I recorded a version of the Dubb Nubb original from that CD in the more metered, more upbeat, more old-timey, more country version you hear here specifically for release on FOLK-O-RAMA: VOLUME FOUR. Which, according to BandCamp, came out on the very same day as PIZZA SONGS FOR PIZZA PARTIES, VOLUME 1. Weird!

lyrics

Honey pie, darlin' I've been thinkin' 'bout the stars and how they shine still tonight, and remember who we are
Oh, darlin', it'll be, a white Christmas Eve, and I'll be ridin' the bus home instead of what you promised me

It's hard to realize, we're alone at the same time
It's hard to realize, we're alone at the same time

Honey pie, darlin' I, don't know what to do on this cold winter's night, I am reminded of you
Darlin', my true love, is really not untrue that I am just as happy now as I was when I'm with you

It's hard to realize, we're alone at the same time
It's hard to realize, we're alone at the same time

Honey pie, darlin' I, don't know what to do
Honey pie, darlin' I, don't know what to do
Honey pie, darlin' I, am thinkin' of you
Honey pie, darlin' I, love you

It's hard to realize, we're alone at the same time
It's hard to realize, we're alone at the same time

about

Googolplexia Missouri

With his electric banjo and ukulele, accordion and trombone kazoo, Robert Severson has crafted Saint Louis, Missouri's Googolplexia into a one-man outsider vaudeville. Severson stomps, claps, and gurgles into the disparate, cobwebbed corners of American music and sometimes beyond. Expect screwball theatrics at their most hand-embroidered. ... more
